The country of origin of these blueberries has been to Australia temporarily. Please note that this product is grown to organic standards and is pending organic certification, but is not yet certified.
One full bag of 1kg (2.2lbs) of fresh frozen cultivated blueberries from Australia. No use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. GMO-free. All hand-picked, washed and individually flash-frozen (IQF) right after harvest for freshness. These berries are the cultivated regular blueberries that you usually see in the supermarkets.
Compared to wild blueberries (also available at Horizon Farms), cultivated blueberries are larger in size and are consistent in shape. Generally speaking, wild blueberries are the better choice, however, regular blueberries are the most available and therefore the most popular variety.

Cultivated Blueberries: Recommended for sweets and cakes due to their uniform shape and sweetness. Fewer antioxidants than the wild variety, but still very nutritious. Wild Blueberries: Wild blueberries contain more antioxidants per serving due to a higher skin-to-pulp ratio and due to their smaller size. Forest-Picked Wild Blueberries: Bursting with anthocyanidins, vitamin C, vitamin E, manganese, and more, which make them exceptionally nutritious. |

Cultivated Blueberries: Compared to other types, they have a sweet and milder taste. Wild Blueberries: Deeply sweet and sour. Forest-Picked Wild Blueberries: Very flavorful and considerably tart with a touch of sweetness. |

Cultivated Blueberries: Large in size and easy to eat as is. Wild Blueberries: Due to their small size and lack of moisture, each pack contains a larger amount of berries. Forest-Picked Wild Blueberries: Smaller and stronger in flavor, therefore very nice as a topping (such as yogurt, etc.) |
