All-Natural Frozen Edamame (450-900g)

Choose between 450g (1lb) and 900g (2lbs) of all-natural, nasty-free fresh frozen edamame (green soybeans). This edamame is called "dadacha-me", which comes from a special soybean, grown in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata, Japan, and is known as "the king of edamame". These special beans are characterized by their rich aroma and delectable sweetness. A perfect, quick, and easy side dish or snack that goes well with any occasion.

These edamame beans are grown in Japanese organic certified (JAS) fields, where chemical pesticides are never used. No preservatives, artificial coloring/flavors, or any other additives are used. After harvesting they are simply blanched and individually flash-frozen (IQF) to preserve their freshness and bright color. These are super convenient as you can just take the perfect amount you need from the bag as needed and enjoy.

Blanching is a non-chemical simple process of scalding the vegetables for 60 seconds in 90°C (200°F) hot water and then shock cooling in ice water to stop the cooking process. Blanching stops enzyme actions that cause loss of flavor, color, and texture, it also cleanses the surface of dirt and organisms, brightens the color, and helps to preserve the vitamins.

Edamame Preparation Instructions

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the frozen edamame. Boil for around 30 seconds or until the desired firmness is reached. Drain and rinse in cold water. Season with salt to taste and refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!
