Due to a change in Japanese regulations from the 16th of July 2020 onwards, New Zealand certified organic meat produce will not be automatically recognized as organic in Japan anymore. We’re in the process of having our New Zealand chicken certified as JAS organic in Japan, in the meantime, the organic wording has been removed from all New Zealand chicken product pages. There are no changes in the products. Thank you for your understanding.
You get 1 fully sized whole butterflied chicken without the backbone (frame) - marinated and seasoned and ready for the oven or the grill. The size is around 1.3kg (2.8lbs) and easily feeds 3 adults. The size should fit any regular oven in Japan. Alternatively, you can separate all the pieces and cook individually in the frying pan. The chicken has been marinated in brine for half a day and then seasoned with the following organic mild herbs and spices: thyme, garlic, lemon peel, and sage. All-natural and free of additives or preservatives. The chicken is butterflied (aka. spatchcocked), which means that the chicken has almost been cut in half with the frame removed as you see in the image. This allows the chicken to cook more evenly and faster. Perfect for a family dinner or gathering or for the outdoor BBQ, simply defrost and cook.

Ben and George Bostock grew up on their family’s organic apple orchard in sunny Hawke’s Bay and share a family passion for healthy, safe growing practices where there is control from the farm to plate. This means no chemicals, no antibiotics, no hormones, and no genetic modification. The brothers are determined to give their free-range and pasture-raised chickens the best life. Their apple orchard provides the perfect environment to pasture-raised chicken. The birds enjoy a happy life roaming freely among the apple trees and are housed in uniquely designed french chalets, which are clean and spacious and enable the chickens to roam freely outside once they are fully feathered.

Organic apple farming since childhood, pasture-raised chicken since 2014
Certified organic lush, green grass and juicy organic apples as well as home-grown feed including corn and barley. (Organic certification within New Zealand only.)
Defrost the sealed package in the fridge for 24h or in ice water for 2h. Place on an oven tray. For a crispier skin brush the surface with liquid butter.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and place the chicken in the middle rack. Depending on your oven size and features (convection oven or not) it may take up to 60 minutes. We recommend setting the timer to 40 minutes first.
Once the skin is crispy brown and the liquids run clear and the internal temperature of the chicken breast has reached over 65 degrees Celsius (150 degrees Fahrenheit) the chicken is cooked. We recommend cooking the vegetables separately in the frying pan.
Because the backbone is removed it is relatively easy to separate the chicken. You'll get two large chicken legs with the thighs attached, two whole wings and two chicken breasts. This is enough to feed 3-4 adults.
The chicken breasts are best served sliced.
The chicken legs are best eaten by hands.
Taste the difference. All-natural and organic free-range chicken from New Zealand. Enjoy.
