A four-pack set of 250g (8.8oz) bags, totaling 1kg (2.2lbs), of certified organic (also Japan certified organic JAS) fresh frozen cut green beans from Netherlands, Europe. No use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. GMO-free. Freshly harvested, cut, blanched, and then individually flash-frozen (IQF) for freshness and quality. Green beans are amazingly convenient and versatile. Because they are individually quick frozen you can easily take the amount required straight from the freezer and use it as usual.
Blanching is a non-chemical simple process of scalding the vegetables for 60 seconds in 90°C (200°F) hot water and then shock cooling in ice water to stop the cooking process. Blanching stops enzyme actions that cause loss of flavor, color, and texture, it also cleanses the surface of dirt and organisms, brightens the color, and helps to preserve the vitamins.
About Certified Organic
This product is certified Japan Agricultural Standard Organic (JAS) - both in the country of origin and Japan. Japan has one of the world's strictest organic certification standards. But what does certified organic mean when it comes to fruits and vegetables?
✔ Strictly tested for E Coli, coliforms, molds, yeasts as well as listeria and salmonella and therefore meets very high microbiological safety standards.
✔ Free of harmful synthetic chemical inputs such as fertilizer, pesticides or any food additives.
✔ Free of genetically modified seeds (non-GMO)
✔ The farmland and soil in use are free of any chemical treatments.
✔ Organic produce is heavily regulated. Producers and importers are checked and inspected by governmental bodies or certified third parties. Organic certification requires detailed bookkeeping and documentation for 100% tracability. "Certified organic" is a protected word and the use is legally restricted.
✔ Organic farming is a more sustainable when it comes to holistic food production. The lack of harmful pesticides is better for the environment.
✔ Organic produce comes mostly from family-owned farms that own smaller acres of organic land.
It is also important to mention that organic produce is more cost-intensive. Organic farming has lower yields compared to conventional farming and is oftentimes more labor-intensive as well. Additionally, organic certification and auditions require annual fees for producers, exporters, and importers resulting in higher prices for the end consumers.
Please note that non-processed, non-GMO, and chemical-free produce will always have a minor degree of defects; these may include, decolorations, insect damage, broken damage, crumble damage, squashed damage, over or under maturity, and minor natural non-harmful mold. Although rare, there may worms, scratches or mold on the product that cannot be seen during inspections. None of these are harmful or a safety issue and can be removed without worries.

Translated from Japanese: I appreciate the convenience of being able to quickly add green and yellow vegetables when I don't have enough around.
So far, there were no streaks, they weren’t hard, and even my daughter, who hates green beans, eats them.
Translated from Japanese: They're delicious and not stringy! I like organic foods, especially for vegetables that are not peeled. I'm happy to be able to get their nutrients easily.
Translated from Japanese: I wonder if it’d be good enough to say that my body is accepting it? Poor quality vegetables can be rejected by the body, but these are very delicious.
Translated from Japanese: They’re easy to eat and healthy, so I eat them every day. There are quite a lot in one bag, so it’s hard to finish them quickly, but I will buy them again.
They were good.
Translated from Japanese: It was more chewy than I expected and it was delicious without tasting like it was frozen.
It's my first time using frozen beans, so I can't compare it with other beans, but it's safe and convenient, so I'll keep it on hand.
