This is very delicious and authentic in its deeply savory yet delicate taste. Of course it will pair perfectly with cabbage, and I highly recommend that you branch out with it. Defrost & shred a pack of this excellent brisket by hand, then toss it in as the very last step to a pan of yaki-udon — I used 2 packs of hoso-udon, pan-sautéed first in a little cooking oil with a few splashes of water, then I added a generous amount of nabe-style mixed veggies with just a pinch of salt, a small handful of sliced almonds and sunflower seeds, plus nearly 2 Tbs. of a blend of organic veggie soup powder, ground black pepper, garlic powder & granules, red pepper flakes and other spices to taste, then adding just a splash of dashi-soy sauce along with 100ml or so of water while adjusting to texture during cooking. No sweetener added, no standard yaki-udon sauce, in order for the brisket’s own flavor to work its magic on the dish. So good!

We used it to make homemade merguez and chevaps and they came out great

Italian sausage is hard to find in Japan but these are perfect. The seasoning is just right and I've used them to make several delicious pasta dishes. I hope Horizon Farms will also consider selling sweet Italian sausage someday as I can't find that anywhere!
