What is Raw Cacao?
Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing cacao beans to form powder. Since the powder is prepared without any heating processes, it retains the natural light brown color, natural aroma, and many essential nutrients. Cacao contains antioxidants such as epicatechin and flavanol, also known as cacao polyphenols. This superfood is also rich in nutrients like magnesium, iron, calcium, phenylethylamine (PEA), zinc, copper, and manganese. Cocoa powder, on the other hand, is produced at high heat, resulting in a loss of nutrients.
