What is sprouted wheat?
The sprouted grain process involves soaking the grains in water until they begin to grow a sprout. The growing environment is highly controlled, including the water & air temperature, and the time that the grains are allowed to sprout. Sprouted wheat tends to contain more nutrients than whole wheat. The bagels are shipped frozen, but one of the major attributes of sprouted breads is that they freeze very well and retain their great texture and flavor once defrosted.
How to prepare
We recommend taking out just what you need from the freezer and toast until warm and crisp. The bagels may stick together when frozen. In that case, you can separate them with your hands, but you may need to partially defrost them. We do not recommend cutting the bagel with a knife when it's still frozen as there is a higher risk of injuries.
