Organic Free-Range Chicken Wingettes / Drumettes from New Zealand (500g)
Choose options
Organic chicken meat tends to have red or brown coloring around the bones even after cooking. This is not blood, rather it is proteins called myoglobin and hemoglobin which are predominantly found in healthy free-range chicken that exercise and move a lot. There are no safety or quality concerns. Brining the chicken 24h prior to cooking in a salt solution helps reduce the visual impact.
You get one pack of wingette and drumette mix. They are also known as nibbles. If you like the dark meat of chicken and chicken wings and if you like nibbling then this is made just for you. Each pack contains a few drummettes, aka. tabamoto in Japan, not to be mistaken with the much larger drumstick which comes from the leg. And a few wingettes aka. tebanaka in Japan which is the midsection of the wing. Probably the most popular recipe for chicken nibbles is honey soy chicken. All you need is honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, sesame seeds, olive oil, lemon zest, garlic, and ginger. Marinade the chicken for approx. 1h before cooking in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 30 minutes.
