You get 340g (12oz.) of the finest ground wild boar. We use the shoulder part only, no trimmings. No nasties, nothing else added. We recommend using ground wild boar the same way you would use ground pork. Remember that wild boar is extremely lean. Wild boar meat has a strong, nutty, rich flavor that is unique and often not comparable to other meats. Wild boar meat is not gamey tasting, it's meat is darker in color with a distinct, with a flavorful taste.
This is the real deal wild boar from North America. Non-farmed, all-natural wild boar. Although we can't label these as organic, it simply does not get any more organic than this. This is probably one of the rare times where we can't provide you with the list of feed or the ranch they grew up on. Wild boars are omnivores, so they will eat almost anything. Their diet includes nuts, acorns, seeds, roots, fruit, rodents, and small reptiles. Unlike domestic pork, wild boar is much leaner and low in cholesterol. Wild boar is an excellent alternative to pork for those who want food that is good for them without sacrificing taste and quality. Wild Boar is high in protein and is a good source of monounsaturated fats and zinc.
These wild boars are humanely captured and processed in Texas, United States. Although wild boar meat is not prone to illness or disease wild boar undergoes rigorous testing for safety in the States during export and then again in Japan during import. Only selected processing plants in the States are allowed to export wild boar meat to Japan. Once imported to Japan, samples are taken and tested for safety. All our stocks are approved by the Japanese government for human consumption.
