Certified Organic All-Natural Frozen Green Melon from Vietnam (350g)

One 350g (12.3oz) bag of certified JAS organic, naturally farmed, green melon. This muskmelon is harvested at peak ripeness and then precut into convenient bite-sized pieces. Each piece is individually frozen using advanced non-heat flash-freezing technology to preserve freshness and flavor as if they were just sliced. Rest assured this fruit is completely free of preservatives, antioxidants, artificial colors, or added sugars making this a pure, natural treat you can enjoy with confidence.

This melon is greenhouse-grown by a Japanese company located near the south-central coast of Vietnam. This area is ideal for melon cultivation due to long hours of sunlight, low rainfall, and daily temperature fluctuation of about 10°C. All seeds are from premium Japanese muskmelon varieties ensuring exceptional quality. To concentrate the sweetness and nutrients, only one melon is grown per plant. Organic fertilizers and natural, plant-based insect repellants are produced entirely on the farm from cultivation to manufacturing. The combination of Vietnam's optimal climate with Japan's meticulous expertise and quality control results in high-quality melon in each and every bag.

This melon is ripened to perfection and then carefully harvested for sweet and tender chunks. No need to wait for them to ripen or worry about over-ripening, just thaw slightly and enjoy perfectly ripe melon any time. Great for enhancing fruit salads, cakes, crepes, yogurt, kakigori shaved ice, or even prosciutto for an elegant treat.

Horizon Farms Melons

We currently offer two types of melon: this refreshingly sweet green melon, and cantaloupe with a slightly stronger aroma and sweetness. Since the sugar content can depend on the individual melons and melon types, there is no great difference between the two varieties. The color difference is due to the quantity of beta-carotene, with cantaloupe having around 25 times the beta-carotene of green melon.

About Certified Organic

This product is certified Japan Agricultural Standard Organic (JAS). Japan has one of the world's strictest organic certification standards. But what does certified organic mean when it comes to fruits and vegetables?

✔ Strictly tested for E Coli, coliforms, molds, yeasts as well as listeria and salmonella and therefore meets very high microbiological safety standards.

✔ Free of harmful synthetic chemical inputs such as fertilizer, pesticides or any food additives.

✔ Free of genetically modified seeds (non-GMO)

✔ The farmland and soil in use are free of any chemical treatments.

✔ Organic produce is heavily regulated. Producers and importers are checked and inspected by governmental bodies or certified third parties. Organic certification requires detailed bookkeeping and documentation for 100% traceability. "Certified organic" is a protected phrase and the use is legally restricted.
