Premium Organic Jarrah Honey TA35+ from Australia (250g)
Choose options
Premium Organic Jarrah Honey from Western Australia. This honey has a TA value of 35+, and each jar contains 250g (8.8oz) of honey. Jarrah trees are a type of eucalyptus tree found only in the southwestern region of Western Australia, making this a rare treat. In a similar vein to Manuka honey, Jarrah honey is known as a "healing honey" for it's impressive antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Rest assured this product is certified organic in Australia, produced cleanly without chemicals or pesticides. This honey also makes a wonderful gift for loved ones with a sweet tooth.
This honey is prized for it's rich and complex flavor that has been praised as being reminiscent of brown sugar, caramel, and maple syrup. This TA35+ honey has a bit of a milder flavor than our TA50+ version, great for those who enjoy a simpler flavor profile. Easy to use in a variety of ways, we recommend using 2-3 teaspoons a day (about 5g) to savor the flavor and enjoy the health benefits. Please note that the antibacterial properties of Jarrah honey are easily damaged by high heat, so we recommend this for use in yogurt, smoothies, served with nuts, cheese, and the like rather than in things like hot tea.
What is TA (Total Activity)?
Also called Phenol Activity, this represents the strength of Jarrah honey's antibacterial properties compared to phenol, a standard disinfectant. The TA rating quantifies the honey's ability to prevent bacterial growth. For example, TA20+ indicates antibacterial strength equivalent to 20% of a solution with 10% phenol. The higher the TA value, the greater the honey's antibacterial strength, with TA30+ being considered a medical-grade product due to high antibacterial strength. Manuka honey is similarly rated with a UMF factor. While the two are not directly comparable due to different antibacterial components and testing criteria, it is said that Manuka and Jarrah honey with the same respective values are nearly equivalent in antibacterial strength based on the standards of phenol disinfectant.
In addition to this TA35+ honey, we also offer a stronger TA50+ variety.
✔ Unique, premium natural honey with exceptional antibacterial properties derived from the combination of nutrient-rich Jarrah flower nectar and natural enzymes from the bees.
✔ Pure and additive free. No preservatives, sweeteners, flavoring, and no blending with other honeys.
✔ Raw and unheated to preserve the original, freshly harvested honey flavor while maintaining all the antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
✔ Contains prebiotics which promote gut health.
✔ Soothing for sore throats and oral inflammation.
✔ High in fructose with a low glycemic index (GI) around 46. GI has a maximum of 100 (glucose) and measures the impact of food on blood glucose levels, with lower GI values being less likely to cause blood sugar spikes.
✔ Since Jarrah honey does not contain methylglyoxal (MGO) found in Manuka honey, they cannot be directly compared. However, Jarrah honey that is rated TA35+ is considered to have antibacterial strength roughly equivalent to Manuka honey with an MGO rating of 2100+.

About Forest Fresh Jarrah Honey
Forest Fresh is a small, family-run business that has been beekeeping in Western Australia for over 100 years. They partner with local beekeepers to supply high-quality. active honey collected from pristine native forests and grasslands. Drawing on extensive knowledge and experience in honey, they are dedicated to delivering only the highest quality, natural raw honey.
Among the honeys Forest Fresh offers, Jarrah honey is particularly rare. Jarrah trees are a slow-growing species, and each tree only flowers for just a few months every four years. They are also susceptible to brushfires, and larger harvests are only possible roughly every two years. This limited availability makes Jarrah honey a specialized, unique, and highly sought-after product.
