Introducing 140g (4.9oz) fillets of all-natural wild-caught turbot (also known as Greenland Halibut) from the Arctic Circle in northeastern Canada. Wild-caught using traditional methods by the Inuit fisherfolk of Pangnirtung, just off the coast of Baffin Island in Nunavut. Fishers travel across the frozen lakes on snow machines and use only nets and long lines to catch the fish through up to 8 feet of ice, for minimal disturbance to the environment. All turbot is pinboned and frozen immediately after harvest for maximum freshness and quality.
Raised in the cold waters of the Arctic Circle's rich wilderness, turbot is characterized by its moderate fat content and plump flesh. The more you chew, the more you will enjoy its rich flavor. It is very soft and easy to handle, with a hint of buttery sweetness, making it an easy fish to please all members of the family. Braise it, fry it, stew it - it's delicious any way you cook it up.
✔ Catch control is carried out under the initiative of the national government in consideration of sustainability.
✔ The fish is landed by an enterprise that contributes to the education and employment of Inuit youth.
✔ Fishing method is hole-fishing, which minimizes environmental impact on the sea area.
✔ Fish are caught fresh and quick-frozen to ensure high quality. Absolutely no nasties.
