This product has undergone sand removal on-site before packaging; however, there may be traces of sand remaining. There may also be slight abrasions on the shells due to brushing against one another during transport. Thank you for your understanding.
Introducing MSC Certified All-Natural Wild-Caught Shell-On Pipi Clams from the beautiful blue shores of Australia. This generous 1kg (2.2lbs) pack is filled with around 70 high-quality pipis that have been de-sanded on-site and flash-frozen for freshness and convenience. These clams, native only to Australia, are often used by Japanese residents of Australia in place of asari clams. Italian-Australians likewise have come to enjoy pipi clams as a main ingredient in vongole pasta. These little bivalves are meticulously hand-harvested by Indigenous Australians in the pristine coastal waters of the wild, largely untouched Coorong National Park in South Australia.
Pipi clams are prized for their firm meat and mildly sweet oceanic aroma. The meat is resistant to shrinking, and offers rich flavor in every clam. Their delightful texture adds to their appeal, making them a stand out ingredient for a variety of dishes like soups, pastas, stir-fries, or seafood salads. We also recommend pairing them with some butter and garlic for meals outdoors. Please note that these pipi clams should not be eaten raw. Please make sure to cook thoroughly before consumption.
Also consider pairing this product with our wide selection of sustainable seafoods for unforgettable dishes like bouillabaisse and Italian acqua pazza.
