Manuka Honey is honey from the nectar of the Manuka tree, which is native only to New Zealand. It is known for its high content of MGO (dietary methylglyoxal), a natural ingredient that boasts antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Also packed with amino acids, vitamin B, vitamin C, antioxidants, and minerals, making it a true natural superfood.
This product is UMF certified, ensuring it's truly authentic New Zealand Manuka Honey. The UMF certification mark is only granted to Manuka Honey which has passed strict quality testing by a New Zealand government-accredited laboratory. Manuka honey is classified into five levels: 5+, 10+, 15+, 20+, and 25+. This one is on the lower end at 5+. The higher the UMF number, the greater the MGO content, resulting in a stronger antibacterial effect. However, it's also important to note that the cost also increases. These values are key factors to consider when choosing Manuka honey.
This Manuka honey is meticulously hand-harvested exclusively from a special apiary in a unique area of New Zealand called the "Forgotten World", known for its abundant rainfall. While its UMF rating is only 5+, which is the lowest among the possible certifications, its MGO value is 196, making it relatively high for UMF 5+ certified honeys.
